Saturday, March 7th, 2015 from 9:00am to 1:00pm South Elgin High School.

The Special Needs Parent Resource Fair offers parents the opportunity to learn about the programs local service agencies and non-profits provide for our special needs community.  Attending agencies cover a full range of service categories, including autism, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, hearing and sight, special recreation, developmental delays and physical disabilities. The Resource Fair hosts over 40 service agencies from Kane, Cook and DuPage Counties offering services for kids of all ages and young adults. Best of all, attendance is FREE!

Keynote Presentation on Student Self Advocacy 9:30am – 10:50am
Presented the National Association for Down Syndrome

The National Association for Down Syndrome launched a innovative speakers program three years ago that has enhanced opportunities for Self-Advocates to be involved in the organization in a variety of ways.  The public speakers program has been a success and 14 public speakers have been trained and working in the community to spread the news about Disability Awareness.  Our Self-Advocates  share their own unique success stories on how to achieve their potential in all aspects of community life.  They have been well known all over the Chicagoland area in speaking in hospitals, churches, schools including (elementary, junior high, high school, universities), various organizations, special fundraisers and state conferences. Come see and support these inspiring Self-Advocates as they proudly “Speak Up and Speak Out”.
